Hello Everyone!!!!!
I love working as a AmeriCorps VISTA. I’ve been doing it for over 1 1/2 years now.
I’m a person with a Disability called Learning Disability
I enjoy meeting new people and everyone. I’m also in a program called People First of Nevada. It’s all about Self-Adovacy & Self-Determination to help people to become independent. I’m learning a lot from my job and from other people too everyday.
My biggest goal I’ve accomplished for people with disabilities was in Reno / Sparks chapter in Nevada. I went to public hearings on RTC ACCESS about not raising their prices on RTC Buses. As of today their prices for their buses have been reduced for people with disabilities.
I would love to work with Nevada Center for Excellences in Disabilities (NCED) program because I would help out a lot of people out in the community by filming people with disabilities and company’s throughout Nevada. This will get the word out in the community about People First language and other services.
I have really good computer skills including Adobe Premiere and making web-sites on (MAC) for a hobby.
After being with the People First of Nevada organization for almost 2 years I have learned so much thought out my career.
